MOD X SCOTLAND will investigate how Scotland, a region of the UK, has developed industrialized building capability through strategic industry and government partnership.

This MODX learning journey is targeted at companies on the construction supply chain. The purpose of the journey is to understand the context of the UK and Scotland to determine how supply chain operators can respond to progressive offsite manufactures wanting to scale. Further, companies from abroad and those in Scotland will mutually share their perspectives on business models in OSM.

The objectives of this learning journey are to:

• Investigate supply chain product or process solutions for timber offsite manufacturers

• Foster relationships with a selection of progressive offsite operators collaborating for scale

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the UK and Scottish context for the purposes of market response

• Investigate business model platforms for offsite manufacture

Factory tours will include panelized and modular manufacturing.

Attendees are required to make their own round trip flight and hotel accommodations in Edinburgh. Hotel location for bus pick up and drop off TBD.

Day 1 - Highlands

12:30 PM Travel to James Jones – pack lunch on bus

3:30 PM Travel to Macallan Distillery Visitor Centre (mass timber structure)

4:30 PM Stop at Distillery Note: visitor centre closes at 5:00pm

5.30 PM Return to Edinburgh

7.00 PM Stop for dinner Aviemore (Fish and Chips)

10.00 PM Arrive back in Edinburgh

Day 2 - Glasgow

8:00 AM Bus to CCG, Glasgow

9:00 AM Factory tour of CCG Construction Group

12:00 PM Travel to Commonwealth Games Athlete Village (or equivalent project)

12:30 PM Athletes Village Walkabout (pack lunch on bus)

14:00 PM Drive to Edinburgh

15:00 PM Edinburgh Napier University, Institute for Sustainable Construction Visit
